March 27, 2016

 Hello BCS!

It was an emotional week at BCS!  We celebrated our learning and goal-setting through student involved conference and mourned with each other after the passing of two people close to our community.  With the passing on Friday morning of our former teacher, Jerry Melton, our BCS staff response team has met and we are prepared to continue to support our teachers, staff, students and parents on Monday and thereafter in whatever way needed.  Sadness indeed, though now on with some joyful emotion with the below highlights and Mrs. Husband’s planned return for this week, Tuesday.

We would like to congratulate our March Student Spotlight, Jake S.! Please click to read all about Jake!  If your child is interested in being the April Student Spotlight, please click Student Spotlight, complete the form and submit it by Wednesday, March 30, 2016.  Also, in case you missed earlier this week the exciting update and review of our partnership with Project COPE Zambia, click here to read all about it!

FINAL WEEK! Our Heroic Book Drive for Flint sponsored by our BCS NJHS for the month of March is up and running.  BCS is partnering with GEARup2LEAD to collect books for families in Flint and Genesee Counties.  The GEARup2READ Book Drive is not an ordinary book drive.  In today’s world, heroic leadership skills are needed at an early age.  Donate a book with a "heroic character" to help send the message to children to be heroic leaders and create positive change within their communities. Bins are located in the BCS main lobby.  Learn more here.

BCS is a great place to be!  Check out the pictures from the week on our Facebook Page.  We’re looking forward to another great week of learning at BCS!

Wishing you well,

Mark Morawski
